KIMA learned Selah Police Chief Stacy Dwarshuis has been placed on paid administrative leave pending a pre-termination hearing set for later this month. Sgt. Rick Hayes has been named interim police chief.

SELAH -- Selah's new mayor says it will be up to voters whether the city pool survives. An announcement at the last Selah City Council meeting indicated the pool would close after this summer. It can only stay open if the city raises money to fix it for the time being until a new one could be built.

A standing room only crowd filled Selah City Hall late Tuesday afternoon. People showed up to tell city council they didn't agree with a proposal to provide "golden parachutes" to the current city supervisor and the police chief. Those deals could cost you more than half a million dollars.
